In this session participants will learn how targeted instruction in peer social skills and emotional literacy improves children’s social-emotional development, the development of friendships and can reduce challenging behaviors. Classroom implementation strategies that can be used across the day will be highlighted with examples, pictures and video clips.
Using embedded instruction across the day can significantly increases the intensity of instruction on targeted objectives. This session will outline how teachers can organize their schedule to include the use of consistent routines within routines within routines and how instructional objectives can be embedded into routines to maximize instructional opportunities across the day in early childhood settings.
